States Vote for Bible Curriculum
States Vote for Bible Curriculum
The Bible course curriculum has been voted into 475 school districts (over 1,900 high schools) in over forty states.
93% of school boards that have been approached with this to date, have voted to implement it.
It is not just in the Bible belt, but it has been voted into school districts from Alaska and California, straight across the board to Pennsylvania and Florida.
Over 210,000 students have already taken our course nationwide.

More Good News
More Good News
In addition to the states listed above, more than forty states are using 'The Bible and It's Influence' course of study.
So, of course some states are using both of these great courses of study and the Bible is the main textbook.
These are elective courses and either course can be used.
In most cases, that is a choice made by the school district.
In the state of Idaho, five key people who opposed our Bible in the Public School Project, are no longer in positions of authority.
So, more doors are opening that allow us to move forward.
There is, however, much more work that needs to be done.

BRAVE NEW SCHOOLS
Texas to teachers: Bible will be taught
Plan requires instruction in both Old and New Testaments

The Bible history and literature will be taught in Texas public schools
The Bible's history and literature will be required to be taught in public schools in Texas under a new law that has been clarified by the state attorney general to mean exactly what it says.
"This is a huge victory for the people of Texas and, I think, for people across the country for academic freedom," said Jonathan Saenz, a lawyer for Liberty Legal. "There are 1,300 references to the Bible in the works of Shakespeare alone. Over 60 percent of the allusions studied in [advanced placement] English come from the Bible. Students are going to be better academically and culturally when they hear about the Bible."
The decision is a result of work by the state legislature as well as an opinion from Greg Abbott, the state's attorney general, in a letter to Education Commissioner Robert Scott. House Bill 1287 was approved by state lawmakers in the spring of 2008, and it was signed into law by Gov. Rick Perry. It states all school districts must offer the course as an elective at the high school level by the 2009-2010 school year.
Rep. Warren Chisum, R-Pampa, the author of the plan, said if 15 or more students express interest in the course, districts must provide it.
"A lot of schools don't know they can have the course, and this bill notifies them that the Supreme Court ruled school districts can offer it," Chisum said earlier in advocating for the plan. "School districts should know they can offer the course because it better prepares students for college literature and history classes."
Kevin Franck, of the People for the American Way, told the San Antonio newspaper his group isn't necessarily opposed to the plan, but will be watching its implementation.
And Chisum said the legislature specifically addressed the Bible, not the Quran or any other religious writing, because "the Bible as a text … has historical and literary value."
"It can't go off into other religious philosophies because then it would be teaching religion, when the course is meant to teach literature," he said.
Saenz told WND the actual curriculum – whether schools use only the Bible or another text – is left up to the local school district boards.
"Students more and more have been demanding the courses," he said. "The problem has been that school districts have been threatened [by activists] for offering the courses.
"Now they've got the state board of education's clear guidelines, and support from the attorney general," he said.
He said his organization has been involved in the adoption of the law from its beginning. Counting members of both houses in the legislature, the vote in Texas was 167-3 for the plan.
Liberty Legal, a group committed to defending religious freedoms and First Amendment rights, had been asked to submit a brief on the issue of requiring schools to teach the Bible.
Saenz told WND the requirement allows such education to be either in a regular class or a separate class.
He noted that in one school district close to Dallas, already 160 students have signed up for the class.
Among the subjects that must now be taught in Texas are English, math, science, social students, health, physical education, fine arts, economics, technology and "religious literature, including the Hebrew Scriptures (Old Testament) and New Testament."
"A school district must, of course, offer instruction in the subject matter … 'as required curriculum,'" said the attorney general's opinion, confirming for state education officials the legislature's intent. "The Legislature did not mandate that this curriculum instruction be provided in independent courses.'
One group, the Greensboro, N.C.-based National Council on Bible Curriculum in Public Schools, promotes its curriculum as the only one that uses the Bible as its primary textbook. Supporters include the conservative American Family Association, Eagle Forum and Plano-based Liberty Legal.
Council President Elizabeth Ridenour said the group's material already is being used in 54 Texas school districts. There also are other curriculums that use their own textbooks.

Idaho State Board of Education Gives Permission to Teach the Bible in the Public Schools of Idaho
Dear Bible

Believers,
We have great news for you! Our Godly American Heritage Foundation, located in Boise, Idaho, has permission from the Idaho State Board of Education to teach the Bible in the public schools of Idaho.
The proposal must be presented to each school district individually for their school board's approval.
According to the National Counsel on Bible Curriculum, ninety-five percent of the school districts that have heard this proposal have adopted it.
This permission was given in a letter from the administrator in charge of curriculum at that time.
He has since left the Boise School District and shortly after that permission was given, the superintendant over him at that time denied us that permission to put the Bible in public schools.
She sent me another letter; I have both letters and the second letter denied the first letter.
The good news is she retired and Tom Luna, the current Superintendant of Public Instruction of the State of Idaho, is in agreement with our project.
In 2008, we made a presentation to the House of Representatives but we were not allowed to be even put on the agenda of the Senate even though more that forty other states are moving in this direction.
You should ask your legislator about this situation and why they have not moved our state in this direction.
They have recieived a set of several Green Sheets in 2008 that explained the project to them.
So, ask them if they have done their 'Homework.'
If not, you should take that into consideration next time you vote.
Remember, according to a Gallop Pole, 85% of Americans are Bible believing people!
George Washington and the other Founding Fathers of our nation have made it very clear that our nation cannot survive without the Bible as the foundation of all areas (education, law, government, the market place, media, Wall Street, etc..
We are seeing the results; greed and corruption at all levels.
Newt Gingrich and several other key legislators and educators are advising us to get out an initiative and get 50,000 signatures for this project in Idaho over the next 2 years.
We can then move forward. We need your Help!
Come to the seminar listed in your Intermountain Christian News, Page 6.
See you there! Call Chuck Seldon if you have questions: 208-830-6165.
BE DOERS OF THE WORD AND NOT HEARERS ONLY!
ALL THAT IS NEEDED FOR EVIL TO TRIUMPH IS FOR GOOD MEN TO DO NOTHING.

More than forty states in the United States are currently offering the Bible in public schools.
List of States
The assistance of all families who believe in the Bible is needed in order to make this happen in our state and throughout the nation.
I believe this was the intention of our Founding Fathers and would solicit your help in getting back on track.
According to the Supreme Court of the United States of America, the Bible can be taught as an elective credit in History or as Literature Art.
Recently on Fox News, it was reported that 52 school districts in Texas are implementing the teaching of the Bible in public schools for credit as an elective as History, Literature or Art.
"Praise the LORD", we are getting back to the God of our Founding Fathers.
Our Godly American Heritage Foundatin has placed materials in the Boise public libraries to assist parents, teachers, and students discover for themselves that the goal of our Founding Fathers, when they established public education in 1635 in the New England colonies, was to make the Bible the foundation of education.
These books, DVDs and videotapes are available to you and your family.
They may be found listed under the author, David Barton.
We need your prayers and financial help with this project.
We have friends from 25 churches and pastors so far that are willing to help us as volunteers by sitting at a table and answering questions as well as getting signatures from parents and students who would take the course if it was offered.

We need 500 signatures.
Mission Media, the Keep the Commandment Coalition, as well as Generation Life have offered to provide assistance.
The non-profit foundation called "Our Godly American Heritage" is sponsoring the effort.
We are in position to accept items for donation such as vehicles, furniture and other items that can be sold for funds to support the project.
Please contact us via e-mail:
OurGodlyAmericanHeritage@msn.com
or call (208) 336-0483
to speak with me about how you can assist us with this goal.
We would be delighted to meet with your church or civic group in order to share additional information on teaching the Bible in the public school system.
For more information on the Internet about America's Godly Heritage, view the Web site: www.wallbuilders.com.
Thank you and may God Bless America,

Samuel Adams - Founding Father
Words of Wisdom
One of our country's forefathers had a lot of insite into the perils which lay ahead for our country.
The following are but four of his wise warnings:
- It does not require a majority to prevail, but rather an irate, tireless minority keen to set brush fires in people’s minds.
- A general dissolution of the principles and manners will more surely overthrow the liberties of America than the whole force of the common enemy…. While the people are virtuous they cannot be subdued; but once they lose their virtue, they will be ready to surrender their liberties to the first external or internal invader…. If virtue and knowledge are diffused among the people, they will never be enslaved. This will be their great security.
- It is a very great mistake to imagine that the object of loyalty is the authority and interest of one individual man, however dignified by the applause or enriched by the success of popular actions.
- If ever a time should come, when vain and aspiring men shall possess the highest seats in Government, our country will stand in need of its experienced patriots to prevent its ruin.
May our Memorial Day bring more than good company and food for us.
“What we see depends mainly upon what we look for.” -- John Lubbock

United States Democracy In Trouble
How Long Does the United States Have?
About the time our original thirteen states adopted their new constitution in 1787, Alexander Tyler,
a Scottish history professor at the University of Edinburgh, had this to say about the fall
of the Athenian Republic some 2,000 years earlier:
A democracy is always temporary in nature; it simply cannot exist as a permanent form of government.
A democracy will continue to exist up until the time that voters discover they can vote themselves
generous gifts from the public treasury.
From that moment on, the majority always vote for the candidates who promise the most benefits
from the public treasury, with the result that every democracy will finally collapse due to loose fiscal policy,
which is always followed by a dictatorship.
The average age of the world's greatest civilizations from the beginning of history, has been about 200 years.
During those 200 years, those nations always progressed through the following sequence:
- From bondage to spiritual faith
- From spiritual faith to great courage
- From courage to liberty
- From liberty to abundance
- From abundance to complacency
- From complacency to apathy
- From apathy to dependence
- From dependence back into bondage
Professor Joseph Olson of Hemline University School of Law, St. Paul, Minnesota, points out some interesting facts
concerning the 2000 Presidential election:
Number of States won by:
Gore: 19
Bush: 29
Square miles of land won by:
Gore: 580,000
Bush: 2,427,000
Population of counties won by:
Gore: 127 million
Bush: 143 million
Murder rate per 100,000 residents in counties won by:
Gore: 13.2
Bush: 2.1
Professor Olson adds: 'In aggregate, the map of the territory Bush won was mostly the land owned
by the taxpaying citizens of this great country.
Gore's territory mostly encompassed those citizens living in government-owned tenements
and living off various forms of government welfare...'
Olson believes the United States is now somewhere between the 'complacency and apathy' phase
of Professor Tyler's definition of democracy, with some forty percent of the nation's population
already having reached the 'governmental dependency' phase.

Sign The Israel Pledge

Join me in Signing The Israel Pledge
Hi To My Family and Friends,
Given that it seems Washington is not listening to anything "Christian" that has morals, values, or principles... we need to be much more proactive and by strength in numbers let our voice be heard. Here is something I do truly believe in... the protection of Isreal... because it's straight out of the Bible... and wanted to share it and the opportunity to speak out with you!
I just signed The Israel Pledge to send a message to our country, the media, and the people of Israel that thousands of Christians love Israel and stand with her in her fight for survival.
The leadership of Christians United for Israel is going to Washington, D.C. to hand-deliver The Israel Pledge to our newly elected leaders.
The more signatures we gather, the stronger the impact we will make. This is one case where numbers speak even louder than words.
Please join me in signing the Israel Pledge by clicking on the button below.
Thank you sooooo much for your consideration in this.
May God be with us in this "spiritual battle",
Jenn =)

Did You Know America Is A Christian Nation?
America Is A Christian Nation
The Spiritual Heritage Resolution
Congressman Forbes asks the questions "Did America ever consider itself a Judeo-Christian nation?" and "If America was once a Judeo-Christian nation, when did it cease to be?"
YouTube: Congressional Presentation
Read more about America's Christian History
These and many other matters which might be noticed, add a volume of unofficial declarations to the mass of organic utterances that this is a Christian nation.
Why don't they teach this in school under the heading of HISTORY!
DID YOU KNOW?
As you walk up the steps to the building which houses the U.S Supreme Court you can see near the top of the building a row
of the world's law givers and each one is facing one in the middle who is facing forward with a full frontal view ...
it is Moses and he is holding the Ten Commandments!

DID YOU KNOW?
As you enter the Supreme Court courtroom, the Two huge oak doors have the Ten Commandments engraved on each lower portion of each door.

DID YOU KNOW?
As you sit inside the courtroom, you can see the wall, right above where the Supreme Court judges sit, a display of the Ten Commandments!

DID YOU KNOW?
There are Bible verses etched in stone all over the Federal Buildings and Monuments in Washington, D.C..

DID YOU KNOW?
James Madison, the fourth president, known as 'The Father of Our Constitution' made the following statement:
'We have staked the whole of all our political institutions upon the capacity of mankind for
self-government, upon the capacity of each and all of us to govern ourselves, to control ourselves,
to sustain ourselves according to the Ten Commandments of God.'

DID YOU KNOW?
Every session of Congress begins with a prayer by a paid preacher, whose salary has been paid by the taxpayer since 1777.
DID YOU KNOW?
Fifty-two of the 55 founders of the Constitution were members of the established orthodox churches in the colonies.

DID YOU KNOW?
Thomas Jefferson worried that the Courts would overstep their authority and instead of
interpreting the law would begin making law an oligarchy the rule of few over many.

How then, have we gotten to the point that everything we have done for 232 years in this
country is now suddenly wrong and unconstitutional?
Lets put it around the world and let the world see and remember what this great country was built on.

It is said that 86% of Americans believe in God.
Therefore, it is very hard to understand why there is such a mess about having the Ten Commandments on display
or 'In God We Trust' on our money and having God in the Pledge of Allegiance.
Why don't we just tell the other 14% that America was founded on Christian principles?

I Want The American Way Of Life Back
Comments on Obama - Unknown Contributor
Respect the Office? Yes.
Respect the Man in the Office? No, I am sorry to say.
I have noted that many elected officials, both Democrats and Republicans, called upon America to unite behind Obama.
Well, I want to make it clear to all who will listen that I AM NOT uniting behind Obama!
I will respect the Office which he holds, and I will acknowledge his abilities as an orator and wordsmith and pray for him, BUT that is it.
I have begun today to see what I can do to make sure that he is a one-term President!
Why am I doing this?
It is because:
- I do not share Obama's vision or value system for America
- I do not share his Abortion beliefs
- I do not share his radical Marxist's concept of re-distributing wealth
- I do not share his stated views on raising taxes on those who make $150,000+ (the ceiling has been changed three times since August)
- I do not share his view that America is Arrogant
- I do not share his view that America is not a Christian Nation
- I do not share his view that the military should be reduced by 25%
- I do not share his view of amnesty and giving more to illegals than our American Citizens who need help
- I do not share his views on homosexuality and his definition of marriage
- I do not share his views that Radical Islam is our friend and Israel is our enemy who should give up any land
- I do not share his spiritual beliefs (at least the ones he has made public)
- I do not share his beliefs on how to re-work the healthcare system in America
- I do not share his Strategic views of the Middle East
and
- I certainly do not share his plan to sit down with terrorist regimes such as Iran
Bottom line: my America is vastly different from Obama's, and I have a higher obligation to my Country and my GOD to do what is Right!
For eight (8) years, the Liberals in our Society, led by numerous entertainers who would have no platform and no real credibility but for their celebrity status, have attacked President Bush, his family, and his spiritual beliefs!
They have not moved toward the center in their beliefs and their philosophies, and they never came together nor compromised their personal beliefs for the betterment of our Country!
They have portrayed my America as a land where everything is tolerated except being intolerant!
They have been a vocal and irreverent minority for years!
They have mocked and attacked the very core values so important to the founding and growth of our Country!
They have made every effort to remove the name of GOD or Jesus Christ from our Society!
They have challenged capital punishment, the right to bear firearms, and the most basic principles of our criminal code!
They have attacked one of the most fundamental of all Freedoms, the right of free speech!
Unite behind Obama? Never!
I am sure many of you who read this think that I am going overboard, but I refuse to retreat one more inch in favor of those whom I believe are the embodiment of Evil!
PRESIDENT BUSH made many mistakes during his Presidency, and I am not sure how history will judge him. However, I believe that he weighed his decisions in light of the long established Judeo-Christian principles of our Founding Fathers!
Majority rules in America , and I will honor the concept; however, I will fight with all of my power to be a voice in opposition to Obama and his "goals for America."
I am going to be a thorn in the side of those who, if left unchecked, will destroy our Country! Any more compromise is more defeat!
I pray that the results of this election will wake up many who have sat on the sidelines and allowed the Socialist-Marxist anti-GOD crowd to slowly change so much of what has been good in America!
"Error of Opinion may be tolerated where Reason is left free to combat it."
Thomas Jefferson
GOD bless you and GOD bless our Country!
(Please, please, please, pass this on if you agree.)
Thanks for your time, be safe. "In GOD We Trust"
"If we ever forget that we're one nation under GOD, then we will be a nation gone under."

Manhattan Declaration: Affirms Life, Marriage And Religious Liberty
Sign the Manhattan Declaration
Dear David,
Last week at the Press Club in Washington, Chuck Colson, Cardinal Rigali and Archbishop Wuerl, as well as NOM's Chairman Prof. Robert P. George and others, gathered to release a document and make an urgent request: Would every Christian (and others of good will) please stand up and be counted by going to www.manhattandeclaration.org and signing The Manhattan Declaration?
"Christians, when they have lived up to the highest ideals of their faith, have defended the weak and vulnerable and worked tirelessly to protect and strengthen vital institutions of civil society, beginning with the family.
We are Orthodox, Catholic, and evangelical Christians who have united at this hour to reaffirm fundamental truths about justice and the common good, and to call upon our fellow citizens, believers and non-believers alike, to join us in defending them. These truths are:
- the sanctity of human life
- the dignity of marriage as the conjugal union of husband and wife
- the rights of conscience and religious liberty.
Inasmuch as these truths are foundational to human dignity and the well-being of society, they are inviolable and non-negotiable. Because they are increasingly under assault from powerful forces in our culture, we are compelled today to speak out forcefully in their defense, and to commit ourselves to honoring them fully no matter what pressures are brought upon us and our institutions to abandon or compromise them. We make this commitment not as partisans of any political group but as followers of Jesus Christ, the crucified and risen Lord, who is the Way, the Truth, and the Life."
Could you go and if you agree, in good conscience, sign on to this important statement? We hold these truths to be fundamental: life, marriage and religious liberty. Take a moment to stand with these important religious leaders as they stand for the enduring teachings of reason and faith across lines of party and denomination by signing the Manhattan Declaration.
Warmly,
Maggie Gallagher

Christian Leaders Stand for Life, Marriage and Religious Freedom
Manhattan Declaration
On Friday of last week, Focus on the Family President and CEO, Jim Daly, joined Chuck Colson, Professor Robby George, Bishop Harry Jackson, and scores of other Christian leaders, in issuing the Manhattan Declaration: A Call of Christian Conscience.
"The unveiling came during a news conference at the National Press Club here in the nation’s capital, but this was a lot more than a photo op," said Daly in a press release. "It was a demonstration of solidarity among more than 125 Christians of all denominational stripes that we will not only continue to speak out in the public square, we will continue to stand firm for biblical principles in that public square."
A paragraph which summarizes the intent of the declaration tells us that, "Because the sanctity of human life, the dignity of marriage as a union of husband and wife, and the freedom of conscience and religion are foundational principles of justice and the common good, we are compelled by our Christian faith to speak and act in their defense. In this declaration we affirm:
- the profound, inherent, and equal dignity of every human being as a creature fashioned in the very image of God, possessing inherent rights of equal dignity and life;
- marriage as a conjugal union of man and woman, ordained by God from the creation, and historically understood by believers and non-believers alike to be the most basic institution in society and;
- religious liberty, which is grounded in the character of God, the example of Christ, and the inherent freedom and dignity of human beings created in the divine image."
The seven-page document closes with this strong statement of conviction: "Because we honor justice and the common good, we will not comply with any edict that purports to compel our institutions to participate in abortions, embryo destructive research, assisted suicide and euthanasia, or any other anti-life act; nor will we bend to any rule purporting to force us to bless immoral sexual partnerships, treat them as marriages or the equivalent, or refrain from proclaiming the truth, as we know it, about morality and immorality and marriage and the family. We will fully and ungrudgingly render to Caesar what is Caesar’s. But under no circumstances will we render to Caesar what is God's."
As of Wednesday morning, over 110,500 people had signed their names to the document. Click here to read or download the entire declaration, or to sign your name in agreement.
