AN INITIATIVE RECOGNIZING THE 1963 DECLARATION OF THE UNITED STATES SUPREME COURT IN THE CASE ABINGTON SCHOOL DISTRICT V. SCHEMPP, THAT THE BIBLE IS WORTH STUDYING FOR ITS LITERARY QUALITIES AND ITS INFLUENCE ON HISTORY. RECOGNIZING FURTHER THAT THE UNITED STATES SUPREME COURT HAS AFFIRMED THAT TEACHING THE BIBLE OR RELIGION OBJECTIVELY AS PART OF A SECULAR PROGRAM OF EDUCATION, IS PERMITTED UNDER THE FIRST AMENDMENT TO THE UNITED STATES CONSTITUTION.

DECLARING IT LAWFUL FOR ANY LOCAL SCHOOL BOARD IN IDAHO TO ALLOW THE APPROVAL AND OFFERING OF AN ELECTIVE BIBLE COURSE IN ITS PUBLIC SECONDARY SCHOOLS.

REQUIRING THAT, IN ORDER TO PROMOTE ACADEMIC EXCELLENCE AND CULTURAL LITERACY AND, AT THE SAME TIME, FULFILL THE REQUIREMENTS OF THE FEDERAL AND STATE CONSTITUTIONS, ELECTIVE BIBLE CURRICULA, AT ALL TIMES, BE PRESENTED OBJECTIVELY AND SECULARLY AND THAT SECTARIAN OR DENOMINATIONAL DOCTRINE NEVER BE ENDORSED OR PROMOTED.

States Vote for Bible Curriculum
The Bible course curriculum has been voted into 475 school districts (over 1,900 high schools) in over forty states. 93% of school boards that have been approached with this to date, have voted to implement it. It is not just in the Bible belt, but it has been voted into school districts from Alaska and California, straight across the board to Pennsylvania and Florida. Over 210,000 students have already taken our course nationwide.

In addition to the states listed above, more than forty states are using 'The Bible and It's Influence' course of study. So, of course some states are using both of these great courses of study and the Bible is the main textbook. These are elective courses and either course can be used. In most cases, that is a choice made by the school district. In the state of Idaho, five key people who opposed our Bible in the Public School Project, are no longer in positions of authority. So, more doors are opening that allow us to move forward. There is, however, much more work that needs to be done.

The Bible history and literature will be taught in Texas public schools

The Bible's history and literature will be required to be taught in public schools in Texas under a new law that has been clarified by the state attorney general to mean exactly what it says.

"This is a huge victory for the people of Texas and, I think, for people across the country for academic freedom," said Jonathan Saenz, a lawyer for Liberty Legal. "There are 1,300 references to the Bible in the works of Shakespeare alone. Over 60 percent of the allusions studied in [advanced placement] English come from the Bible. Students are going to be better academically and culturally when they hear about the Bible."

The decision is a result of work by the state legislature as well as an opinion from Greg Abbott, the state's attorney general, in a letter to Education Commissioner Robert Scott. House Bill 1287 was approved by state lawmakers in the spring of 2008, and it was signed into law by Gov. Rick Perry. It states all school districts must offer the course as an elective at the high school level by the 2009-2010 school year.

Rep. Warren Chisum, R-Pampa, the author of the plan, said if 15 or more students express interest in the course, districts must provide it.

"A lot of schools don't know they can have the course, and this bill notifies them that the Supreme Court ruled school districts can offer it," Chisum said earlier in advocating for the plan. "School districts should know they can offer the course because it better prepares students for college literature and history classes."

Kevin Franck, of the People for the American Way, told the San Antonio newspaper his group isn't necessarily opposed to the plan, but will be watching its implementation.

And Chisum said the legislature specifically addressed the Bible, not the Quran or any other religious writing, because "the Bible as a text … has historical and literary value."

"It can't go off into other religious philosophies because then it would be teaching religion, when the course is meant to teach literature," he said.

Saenz told WND the actual curriculum – whether schools use only the Bible or another text – is left up to the local school district boards.

"Students more and more have been demanding the courses," he said. "The problem has been that school districts have been threatened [by activists] for offering the courses.

"Now they've got the state board of education's clear guidelines, and support from the attorney general," he said.

He said his organization has been involved in the adoption of the law from its beginning. Counting members of both houses in the legislature, the vote in Texas was 167-3 for the plan.

Liberty Legal, a group committed to defending religious freedoms and First Amendment rights, had been asked to submit a brief on the issue of requiring schools to teach the Bible.

Saenz told WND the requirement allows such education to be either in a regular class or a separate class.

He noted that in one school district close to Dallas, already 160 students have signed up for the class.

Among the subjects that must now be taught in Texas are English, math, science, social students, health, physical education, fine arts, economics, technology and "religious literature, including the Hebrew Scriptures (Old Testament) and New Testament."

"A school district must, of course, offer instruction in the subject matter … 'as required curriculum,'" said the attorney general's opinion, confirming for state education officials the legislature's intent. "The Legislature did not mandate that this curriculum instruction be provided in independent courses.'

One group, the Greensboro, N.C.-based National Council on Bible Curriculum in Public Schools, promotes its curriculum as the only one that uses the Bible as its primary textbook. Supporters include the conservative American Family Association, Eagle Forum and Plano-based Liberty Legal.

Council President Elizabeth Ridenour said the group's material already is being used in 54 Texas school districts. There also are other curriculums that use their own textbooks.

Idaho State Board of Education Gives Permission
to Teach the Bible in the Public Schools of Idaho

We have great news for you! Our Godly American Heritage Foundation, located in Boise, Idaho, has permission from the Idaho State Board of Education to teach the Bible in the public schools of Idaho. The proposal must be presented to each school district individually for their school board's approval. According to the National Counsel on Bible Curriculum, ninety-five percent of the school districts that have heard this proposal have adopted it.

This permission was given in a letter from the administrator in charge of curriculum at that time. He has since left the Boise School District and shortly after that permission was given, the superintendant over him at that time denied us that permission to put the Bible in public schools. She sent me another letter; I have both letters and the second letter denied the first letter.

The good news is she retired and Tom Luna, the current Superintendant of Public Instruction of the State of Idaho, is in agreement with our project.

In 2008, we made a presentation to the House of Representatives but we were not allowed to be even put on the agenda of the Senate even though more that forty other states are moving in this direction. You should ask your legislator about this situation and why they have not moved our state in this direction. They have recieived a set of several Green Sheets in 2008 that explained the project to them. So, ask them if they have done their 'Homework.' If not, you should take that into consideration next time you vote. Remember, according to a Gallop Pole, 85% of Americans are Bible believing people! George Washington and the other Founding Fathers of our nation have made it very clear that our nation cannot survive without the Bible as the foundation of all areas (education, law, government, the market place, media, Wall Street, etc.. We are seeing the results; greed and corruption at all levels. Newt Gingrich and several other key legislators and educators are advising us to get out an initiative and get 50,000 signatures for this project in Idaho over the next 2 years. The assistance of all families who believe in the Bible is needed in order to make this happen in our state and throughout the nation. I believe this was the intention of our Founding Fathers and would solicit your help in getting back on track. Recently on Fox News, it was reported that 52 school districts in Texas are implementing the teaching of the Bible in public schools for credit as an elective as History, Literature or Art. "Praise the LORD", we are getting back to the God of our Founding Fathers.

Our Godly American Heritage Foundatin has placed materials in the Boise public libraries to assist parents, teachers, and students discover for themselves that the goal of our Founding Fathers, when they established public education in 1635 in the New England colonies, was to make the Bible the foundation of education. These books, DVDs and videotapes are available to you and your family. They may be found listed under the author, David Barton.

We need your prayers and financial help with this project. We have friends from 25 churches and pastors so far that are willing to help us as volunteers by sitting at a table and answering questions as well as getting signatures from parents and students who would take the course if it was offered.

United States Democracy In Trouble

How Long Does the United States Have?

About the time our original thirteen states adopted their new constitution in 1787, Alexander Tyler, a Scottish history professor at the University of Edinburgh, had this to say about the fall of the Athenian Republic some 2,000 years earlier:

A democracy is always temporary in nature; it simply cannot exist as a permanent form of government.

A democracy will continue to exist up until the time that voters discover they can vote themselves generous gifts from the public treasury.

From that moment on, the majority always vote for the candidates who promise the most benefits from the public treasury, with the result that every democracy will finally collapse due to loose fiscal policy, which is always followed by a dictatorship.

The average age of the world's greatest civilizations from the beginning of history, has been about 200 years.

During those 200 years, those nations always progressed through the following sequence:
  1. From bondage to spiritual faith

  2. From spiritual faith to great courage

  3. From courage to liberty

  4. From liberty to abundance

  5. From abundance to complacency

Professor Joseph Olson of Hemline University School of Law, St. Paul, Minnesota, points out some interesting facts concerning the 2000 Presidential election:

Professor Olson adds: 'In aggregate, the map of the territory Bush won was mostly the land owned by the taxpaying citizens of this great country. Gore's territory mostly encompassed those citizens living in government-owned tenements and living off various forms of government welfare...'

Olson believes the United States is now somewhere between the 'complacency and apathy' phase of Professor Tyler's definition of democracy, with some forty percent of the nation's population already having reached the 'governmental dependency' phase.

Respect the Office? Yes.
Respect the Man in the Office? No, I am sorry to say.

I have noted that many elected officials, both Democrats and Republicans, called upon America to unite behind Obama.

Well, I want to make it clear to all who will listen that I AM NOT uniting behind Obama! I will respect the Office which he holds, and I will acknowledge his abilities as an orator and wordsmith and pray for him, BUT that is it.

I have begun today to see what I can do to make sure that he is a one-term President!

Why am I doing this?

It is because:
  • I do not share Obama's vision or value system for America


  • I do not share his Abortion beliefs


  • I do not share his radical Marxist's concept of re-distributing wealth


  • I do not share his stated views on raising taxes on those who make $150,000+ (the ceiling has been changed three times since August)


  • I do not share his view that America is Arrogant


  • I do not share his view that America is not a Christian Nation


  • I do not share his view that the military should be reduced by 25%


  • I do not share his view of amnesty and giving more to illegals than our American Citizens who need help


  • I do not share his views on homosexuality and his definition of marriage


  • I do not share his views that Radical Islam is our friend and Israel is our enemy who should give up any land


  • I do not share his spiritual beliefs (at least the ones he has made public)


  • I do not share his beliefs on how to re-work the healthcare system in America


  • I do not share his Strategic views of the Middle East
    and


  • I certainly do not share his plan to sit down with terrorist regimes such as Iran


Bottom line: my America is vastly different from Obama's, and I have a higher obligation to my Country and my GOD to do what is Right!

For eight (8) years, the Liberals in our Society, led by numerous entertainers who would have no platform and no real credibility but for their celebrity status, have attacked President Bush, his family, and his spiritual beliefs!

They have not moved toward the center in their beliefs and their philosophies, and they never came together nor compromised their personal beliefs for the betterment of our Country!

They have portrayed my America as a land where everything is tolerated except being intolerant!

They have been a vocal and irreverent minority for years!

They have mocked and attacked the very core values so important to the founding and growth of our Country!

They have made every effort to remove the name of GOD or Jesus Christ from our Society!

They have challenged capital punishment, the right to bear firearms, and the most basic principles of our criminal code!

They have attacked one of the most fundamental of all Freedoms, the right of free speech!

Unite behind Obama? Never!

I am sure many of you who read this think that I am going overboard, but I refuse to retreat one more inch in favor of those whom I believe are the embodiment of Evil!

PRESIDENT BUSH made many mistakes during his Presidency, and I am not sure how history will judge him. However, I believe that he weighed his decisions in light of the long established Judeo-Christian principles of our Founding Fathers!

Majority rules in America , and I will honor the concept; however, I will fight with all of my power to be a voice in opposition to Obama and his "goals for America."

I am going to be a thorn in the side of those who, if left unchecked, will destroy our Country! Any more compromise is more defeat!

I pray that the results of this election will wake up many who have sat on the sidelines and allowed the Socialist-Marxist anti-GOD crowd to slowly change so much of what has been good in America!

On Friday of last week, Focus on the Family President and CEO, Jim Daly, joined Chuck Colson, Professor Robby George, Bishop Harry Jackson, and scores of other Christian leaders, in issuing the Manhattan Declaration: A Call of Christian Conscience.

"The unveiling came during a news conference at the National Press Club here in the nation’s capital, but this was a lot more than a photo op," said Daly in a press release. "It was a demonstration of solidarity among more than 125 Christians of all denominational stripes that we will not only continue to speak out in the public square, we will continue to stand firm for biblical principles in that public square."

A paragraph which summarizes the intent of the declaration tells us that, "Because the sanctity of human life, the dignity of marriage as a union of husband and wife, and the freedom of conscience and religion are foundational principles of justice and the common good, we are compelled by our Christian faith to speak and act in their defense. In this declaration we affirm:
  1. the profound, inherent, and equal dignity of every human being as a creature fashioned in the very image of God, possessing inherent rights of equal dignity and life;


  2. marriage as a conjugal union of man and woman, ordained by God from the creation, and historically understood by believers and non-believers alike to be the most basic institution in society and;


  3. religious liberty, which is grounded in the character of God, the example of Christ, and the inherent freedom and dignity of human beings created in the divine image."


The seven-page document closes with this strong statement of conviction: "Because we honor justice and the common good, we will not comply with any edict that purports to compel our institutions to participate in abortions, embryo destructive research, assisted suicide and euthanasia, or any other anti-life act; nor will we bend to any rule purporting to force us to bless immoral sexual partnerships, treat them as marriages or the equivalent, or refrain from proclaiming the truth, as we know it, about morality and immorality and marriage and the family. We will fully and ungrudgingly render to Caesar what is Caesar’s. But under no circumstances will we render to Caesar what is God's."

By now, you most likely know that Texas has become ground zero for the latest battles in the textbook wars. While conservatives and progressives take their stands on the issue, I wonder: What would America's Founders think about this feud?

For those who somehow have dodged the news, the 15-member Texas State Board of Education, which is composed of 10 Republicans and five Democrats, has been hearing and debating variances of opinion regarding what to include and exclude in its social studies curriculum and subsequent textbooks.

Last Friday, the SBOE members began to wrap up the process by endorsing a draft proposal of the state's social studies curriculum, with an 11-4 vote.

Not surprising is the full range of progressive issues that liberals want the SBOE to include, from emphasizing equity and tolerance for all minorities to erasing key conservative figures and events from history and whitewashing the Judeo-Christian convictions of our Founders.

Liberals and progressives complain that conservatives are hijacking the curriculum process and modifying textbooks to fit their ideological whims. But the history of textbook alterations clearly has proved it is the liberals who have changed the course and content of curricula and textbook production. Conservatives have been largely the guardians or preservationists of tradition. Progressives have changed curricula content to pacify the politically correct and adopt what they value today and want others to value tomorrow.

Interestingly, in 2009, authors Gary Tobin and Dennis Ybarra of the Institute for Jewish & Community Research found some 500 imperfections and distortions concerning religion in 28 of the most widely used social studies and history textbooks in the United States.

The fact is that the majority of the SBOE's members find themselves in good company, in line and legacy with America's Founders. Their educational philosophy even included teaching on the Bible. As Benjamin Rush, a signer of the Declaration of Independence, wrote: "Let the children who are sent to those schools be taught to read and write and above all, let both sexes be carefully instructed in the principles and obligations of the Christian religion. This is the most essential part of education."

Noah Webster, the "Father of American Scholarship and Education," stated, "In my view, the Christian religion is the most important and one of the first things in which all children, under a free government, ought to be instructed. ... No truth is more evident to my mind than that the Christian religion must be the basis of any government intended to secure the rights and privileges of a free people."

In 1789, during the same time when the First Amendment was written, then-President George Washington signed into law the Northwest Ordinance, which states, "Religion, morality, and knowledge, being necessary to good government and the happiness of mankind, schools and the means of education shall forever be encouraged."

Does anyone not know what the term "forever" means? Can any member of the SBOE or any other state board of education be penalized for agreeing with America's Founding Fathers?

As I wrote in my newly released and expanded paperback version of "Black Belt Patriotism," if you want to join me in stopping educational corruption, gridlock and tyranny, then consider doing any of the following:
  • Stay active in your child's education, homework, classroom, PTA, school board, etc.

  • Get familiar with how academic curriculum is reviewed and chosen in your state, and then e-mail your thoughts on it to your state's education board.

  • Get involved in local, state and national politics, and make your voice heard. The time for passivity is over. As Thomas Jefferson once said, "All tyranny needs to gain a foothold is for people of good conscience to remain silent."

  • Learn your state's laws on education, and understand your parental and educational rights. Then teach them to others. To quote Thomas Jefferson again, "Educate and inform the whole mass of the people. ... They are the only sure reliance for the preservation of our liberty."

  • Petition your representatives to support a constitutional amendment protecting the child-parent relationship from unreasonable government intrusion.

  • Consider petitioning your state's education board, school district and local school to adopt the National Council on Bible Curriculum in Public Schools' curriculum about the influence of the Bible in history, civilization, law, literature and the founding of America.

My personal warning to educational tyranny and tyrants is this: It's best not to test or mess with Texas. If you thought we fought hard for the Alamo, wait until you see what we can do for the right to educate our children. You can hide behind your No. 2 pencils, but our branding irons will find your tail sides.

for every death in Iraq and Afghanistan.

The amazing thing is that they only do it on the weekends.
They put up this graveyard and take it down every weekend.
Guys sleep in the sand next to it and keep watch over it at night
so nobody messes with it.


Every cross has the name, rank and D.O.B. and D.O.D. on it.
Very moving, very powerful!

MISSION VIEJO (CBS) — An Orange County couple has been ordered to stop holding a Bible study in their home on the grounds that the meeting violates a city ordinance as a “church” and not as a private gathering.

Homeowners Chuck and Stephanie Fromm, of San Juan Capistrano, were fined $300 earlier this month for holding what city officials called “a regular gathering of more than three people”.

That type of meeting would require a conditional use permit as defined by the city, according to Pacific Justice Institute (PJI), the couple’s legal representation.

The Fromms also reportedly face subsequent fines of $500 per meeting for any further “religious gatherings” in their home, according to PJI.

“We’re just gathering and enjoying each other’s company and fellowship. And we enjoy studying God’s word.” Stephanie Fromm told CBS2.

After city officials rejected the Fromms’ appeal, PJI, which represents other Bible study participants, will appeal the decision to the California Superior Court in Orange County.

“This is also about a city trying to get a family to pay fees – to pay fees and pay money to them – just to be able to have friends over to read the Bible,” attorney Brad Dacus of PJI told CBS2.

Neighbors have written letters to the city in support of the Fromms, whom they said have not caused any disturbances with the meetings, according to PJI.

“The Fromm case further involves regular meetings on Sunday mornings and Thursday afternoons with up to 50 people, with impacts on the residential neighborhood on street access and parking,” City Attorney Omar Sandoval said.

The city of San Juan Capistrano was founded as a mission in the late 1700s by Catholic priest Junipero Serra, who established a local chapel that remains the oldest standing building in California.

Officials with San Juan Capistrano did not respond to requests for comment.

Our Constitutional Amendments are being taken away from us.

Amendment I
Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances.

The Danbury Baptists wrote to Jefferson on November 7, 1801. They were concerned that "free exercise of religion" appeared in the First Amendment. To them, this implied the government had the power to regulate religious expression. They believed that freedom of religion was a God-granted, unalienable right, and that the government should be powerless to restrict religious activities unless those activities caused someone to "work ill to his neighbor."

Jefferson's response - Jan.1,1802: "The free exercise of religion was an inalienable right and not to be meddled with by the government. The First Amendment has erected a wall of separation between church and state."

Jefferson's letter is quoted out-of-context today without regard to its original intent.

Our Founding Fathers fought to establish freedoms and documented their purpose in our Constitution. It is time to fight again to preserve our Constitutional freedoms which our government is attempting to remove from us. The tyranny of Unconstitutional governmental must not be tolerated.

Idaho , and particularly, Nampa , has had disputes regarding Bible classes in public schools. For some time Dr. Chuck Seldon has been promoting the teaching of the Bible in our schools. In the 2012 legislature a bill will be presented to legalize this.

The founders of America believed so strongly that the Bible was the basis for the new nation to be successful that they engraved Bible verses in stone all over the Federal Buildings and Monuments in Washington , D.C. The Bible was integral to education until the middle of the 20th century, including in Idaho.

Most people interpreted the 1963 Supreme Court ruling as banning Bible reading/study. This is not true. The Court said the government could not require the reading of the Bible. Near the end it said, "Nothing we have said here indicates that such study of the Bible or of religion, when presented objectively as part of a secular program of education, may not be affected consistently with the First Amendment."

Texas , led by David Barton of Wallbuilders, was the first state to develop a Bible curriculum to be used to teach the Bible from a secular perspective and to approve its teaching as an elective course. Since then 42 other states have approved Bible teaching in public schools. Idaho is one of twelve that have not.

The guide used for the principles of teaching is The Bible and Public School: A First Amendment Guide published by the Bible Literacy Project and First Amendment Center . The Guide has been endorsed by 18 organizations, both religious and educational, including the American Association of School Administrators, the NEA and AFT, the American Jewish Committee, and the Council on Islamic Education.

Two text books are used by different schools. One is The Bible and Its Influence by Cullen Shippe and Chuck Stetson. A second is The Bible in History and Literature published by the National Council on Bible Curriculum.

These Bible curricula have been voted into 475 school districts (over 1,900 high schools) in forty-three states. Ninety-three percent of school boards that have been approached with this to date have voted to implement it. More than 210,000 students have already taken this course nationwide.

In Idaho , the Republican Party, Sen. Risch, Governor Otter, Lt. Gov. Little, and Superintendent Luna have endorsed the project as have Chuck Winder and Mitch Torianski. Senator Curt McKenzie will carry the bill in the senate.

America Is A Christian Nation

In 1952, President Truman established one day a year
as a "National Day of Prayer."

In 1988 President Reagan designated the first Thursday in May
of each year as the National Day of Prayer.

In June 2007, (then) Presidential Candidate Barack Obama
declared that the USA "Was no longer a Christian nation."

This year President Obama canceled the 21st annual
National Day of Prayer ceremony at the White House
under the ruse of "not wanting to offend anyone"

But, on September 25, 2009, from 4am until 7pm,
a National Day of Prayer for the Muslim religion
was Held on Capitol Hill beside the White House.
There were over 50,000 Muslims in D.C. that day.
President Obama prays with the Muslims!

I guess it Doesn't matter if "Christians" are offended by this event.
We obviously don't count as "anyone" anymore.

Capitol Christmas Tree Honors Obama, Not Jesus

Christmas is a time to honor the Lord. In DC, where Big Government is regarded as the highest deity, that means paying respect to Barack Hussein Obama:

The 63-foot Sierra White Fir lighted at the U.S. Capitol Grounds on Dec. 6 as the official 2011 Capitol Christmas Tree includes a prominently displayed ornament paying homage to President Barack Obama, but includes no ornament readily visible to a person standing near the tree’s base that uses the word “Christmas,” or includes an image of the Nativity, or bears the name or image of Jesus Christ.

On the north side of the tree — at a height of about 4 feet and easily visible to people standing near it — there is an ornament that says: “I 'Love' President Obama.”

When asked whether the tree included any ornaments that mention or depict Christmas or the birth of Jesus, the office of the Architect of the Capitol, which is responsible for the tree, told CNSNews.com that it “does not have a policy nor any restrictions concerning the themes for the ornaments” that go on the tree. The office could not say, however, whether or not this year’s Christmas tree does in fact include even a single ornament that directly references or depicts Christmas or Christ.

The office of the Architect of the Capitol also did not directly respond to the question of whether any other elected official — in addition to President Obama — is mentioned on any ornament hung on the tree.

“There may be ornaments like those you describe near the top of the tree, or they could have been obscured or moved due to wind or weather,” the architect’s office said in a written statement to CNSNews.com.

That is as close to a straight answer as you will get out of Washington bureauweenies.

At least it’s still called the Capitol Christmas Tree for now, not the Holiday Tree or the Obamamas Tree.

The 1st Amendment never intended to separate Christian principles from government.

1st Amendment: “Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion or prohibiting the free exercise thereof.”

The phrase “Separation of church and state” appears in NO founding document.

1789 - U.S. Congressional Records - June 7-Sept.25,1789: Clearly shows the intent of the First Amendment was not to have one denomination running the nation (We do not want in America what we had in England). This did not call for separation of Church and State.

Also according to the Flag Code, the Pledge "should be rendered by standing at attention facing the flag with the right hand over the heart. Members of the Armed Forces and veterans who are present and not in uniform may render the military salute. Persons in uniform should remain silent, face the flag, and render the military salute".
